Kenith Trodd British television producer dead at age 90

Kenith Trodd, a British film and television producer best known for his association with playwright Dennis Potter, died on March 1, 2026, aged 90.

Born Kenneth George Trodd on May 28, 1935, in Southampton, Hampshire, he was raised in the Christian fundamentalist Plymouth Brethren and graduated from Oxford University. He later worked as a university teacher in West Africa before joining television in 1964 as an assistant to Roger Smith, script editor of The Wednesday Play.

That year he changed his given name from Kenneth to Kenith, taking the name from its association with “zenith”.
