in English Literature and an M.A. in communications from the University of Malta, and earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Sheffield. As an author, he wrote mainly for children and illustrated his own books, including the popular Pullu series, while also producing adult fiction, microstories and poetry. He received the National Book Prize.
