Terry Dyson, the English footballer who starred as a winger for Tottenham Hotspur, died on August 20, 2026, aged 91.
Born in Malton on November 29, 1934, and educated at Malton School, he was spotted playing for the British Army during National Service before joining Tottenham from non-league Scarborough after his demobilisation in 1955. He made his first appearance for the club against Sheffield United in March that year and remained with Spurs until 1965, becoming a regular in the double-winning side of 1960–61 and scoring in the FA Cup final against Leicester.
Dyson also held a place in Tottenham history as the only player to score a hat-trick in the North London derby, achieving the feat in a 4–3 win in August 1961. He later went on to play for Fulham, Colchester United, Wealdstone and Guildford City.
