Sid Krofft, the Canadian puppeteer and television writer behind H.R.

Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, died on April 10, 2026. He was 96.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on July 30, 1929, Krofft worked as a television creator, producer, writer and puppeteer. With his brother Marty Krofft, he was part of the team known as The Krofft Brothers, which made numerous children’s television and variety programs in the United States, particularly in the 1970s.
