Aldwyth, an American artist known for complex collages and assemblages made from found materials, died on April 10, 2026.
She was 90. Born Mary Aldwyth Dickman in Pomona, California, on November 21, 1935, she studied painting at American University in 1953 and at the University of Hawaii in 1954 and 1955.
Since the 1980s, she lived and worked on Hilton Head Island, signing and exhibiting her work under the mononym Aldwyth. Her art was closely engaged with the history of art and culture, and she worked in relative seclusion from the larger art world.
