Lowell Green Canadian radio personality dead at age 89

Lowell Green, a Canadian radio personality, journalist and author, died on February 14, 2026.

He was 89. Green was best known as the host of The Lowell Green Show, a conservative morning talk show on Ottawa radio station CFRA, and earlier hosted Greenline, which became the longest-running open-line talk show in North America.

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1936 to Canadian parents, he immigrated to Canada and graduated from Macdonald Agricultural College of McGill University in 1956. He began his broadcasting career in Brantford, Ontario, later working in Sudbury and Montreal before joining CFRA in 1960 as a news and farm reporter. He also wrote newspaper articles and autobiographical, historical and fictional books.
