John Fraser, an Australian tennis player and medical doctor, died on February 14, 2026, aged 90.
Born in Melbourne on August 1, 1935, he attended St Kevin’s College before studying medicine at Melbourne University, graduating in 1958. He later completed three years as a resident at St Vincent’s Hospital.
In 1962, Fraser and his brother Neale undertook a world-wide tennis tour that began in Egypt and ended in Japan. Fraser was appointed medical officer for the Fitzroy Football Club in 1965 and served until 1982, before taking the same role at the Carlton Football Club until 1990. He was also the medical officer for the Australian Tennis Open from 1963 to 1998.
