Muzhappilangad, an Indian writer, died on August 27, 2026, aged 80, after injuries sustained in a traffic collision. Born T.K. Damodaran in Muzhappilangad, a coastal village in Kerala, he wrote under the name T.K.D. Muzhappilangad and was known as an author, screenplay writer, critic and orator. His work ranged from children’s literature to novels, essays, biographies and plays. Among his better-known books was Unnikkuttanum kadhakaliyum, which won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Children’s Literature in 1983.
