Also known as Suleiman or Suliman Mansour, he was born in 1947 in Birzeit and studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Mansour became one of the leading figures in contemporary Palestinian art, and his work was closely associated with the concept of sumud and the visual language of the Palestinian struggle.
His paintings, exhibited internationally, often featured women in traditional Palestinian dress and tree-filled Levantine landscapes. In 1987, he joined the New Visions collective, which rejected Israeli supplies in favor of local natural Palestinian materials.
