Born in Joliette, Quebec, he was most closely associated with the creation of the Malofilm production and distribution studio. Malo produced youth-oriented programs at Expo 67 and later joined the first team assigned to manage Radio-Québec.
He also helped bring together financing for Denys Arcand’s The Decline of the American Empire, a collaboration that led to a Genie Award for Best Motion Picture.
