
Kenny Morris, an English drummer and painter best known as the first studio drummer of Siouxsie and the Banshees, died on January 15, 2026, aged 68.
Born Kenneth Ian Morris on February 1, 1957, he joined the band in February 1977 and made his first studio recording later that year on a John Peel session for BBC radio. A self-taught musician, he played on the group’s debut album, The Scream, in 1978 and Join Hands in 1979 before leaving in September 1979.
Known for a style built around tom-toms and little use of the hi-hat, he was regarded as an influential figure in post-punk drumming.
