Alan Geoffrey Woods, English Anglican priest and dean of Gibraltar from 2003 to 2008, died on January 15, 2026, aged 83.
Born on July 18, 1942, he was educated at Bristol Cathedral Choir School. After qualifying as an accountant, he worked for the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Company until 1967.
He studied at Salisbury Theological College and was ordained in 1970. Woods served as a curate at St Francis Church, Ashton Gate, then as youth chaplain for the Archdeaconry of Swindon and warden of Legge House Residential Youth Centre until 1976.
