Kevin Klose

Kevin Klose, the American broadcast executive who served as president of National Public Radio from 1998 to 2008, died on April 15, 2026, of complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

He was 85. Klose also worked as a journalist, author and academic administrator.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he grew up in Red Hook, New York, and graduated from Harvard University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude. He authored five books, including “Russia and the Russians: Inside the Closed Society.”
