Ilse von Alpenheim, an Austrian pianist, died on April 11, 2026, at the age of 99.

Born in Innsbruck, she was trained by her mother, a piano teacher, and made her first public appearance as a soloist at age nine in Joseph Haydn’s Piano Concerto Hob. XVIII,11.

She later studied with Winfried Wolf in Kitzbühel and with Franz Ledwinka at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 1951, she moved to Switzerland. She was also noted for promoting the piano works of Sándor Veress and for teaching at the Conservatory of Berne from 1960 to 1968.
