May Angeli, a French artist and author, died on April 11, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born in Clichy, France, on August 8, 1937, she graduated from the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d’art and spent her entire career in Paris. She collaborated with Sylvie Baussier on the 2002 collective work Petite histoire des langues, an illustration project that earned her the Prix Octogne from the Centre international d’études en littérature de jeunesse.
In 2013, she received the Grand Prix d’illustration.
