Cleighten Cornelius

Cleighten Cornelius, a New Zealand cricketer and winemaker, died on April 11, 2026, aged 49, in Blenheim, New Zealand, from myeloma.

Born in Christchurch on June 2, 1976, he played three first-class and ten List A matches for Canterbury from 2001 to 2005. Cornelius attended St Bede’s College and later studied at Lincoln University, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology degree.

He went on to work as a winemaker at Mud House in Marlborough.
