
Flo Oy Wong, an American artist, curator and educator, died on April 11, 2026, at age 87.
Born in Oakland, California, on October 28, 1938, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1960 and qualified as a teacher at California State University, Hayward the following year. She later turned to art, studying at DeAnza College and Foothill College from 1978 to 1982.
In 1989, Wong co-founded the Asian American Women Artists Association in San Francisco with Betty Nobue Kano, Moira Roth and Bernice Bing. In 1990, she and Jan Rindfleisch curated the exhibition Families: Rebuilding, Recreating, Reinventing at the Euphrat Museum of Art.
