Elsie Kelly, an English actress known for Benidorm, The Famous Five and Crossroads, died on April 21, 2026, aged 89.
Born in Dovecot, Liverpool, in 1936, she began her television work with Crossroads in 1979, playing cleaner and gossip Mrs Tardebigge until the soap ended in 1988. Her career spanned five decades and also included appearances in The Famous Five, Harry and the Wrinklies and an episode of Bread.
Kelly was best known for her role as Noreen Maltby in the ITV sitcom Benidorm, which ran from 2007 to 2012 and returned from 2015 to 2018.
