José Honório, an East Timorese politician and minister of higher education, science and culture, died on April 21, 2026.
Also known as José Honório da Costa Pereira Jerónimo, he was an East Timorese university lecturer and independent politician. He served as minister of higher education, science and culture from July 2023 in the IX Constitutional Government of Timor-Leste, led by Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão.
