Andrew Hacker, an American political scientist and academic, died on April 21, 2026.
He was 96 or 97. Hacker was a professor in the department of political science at Queens College in New York and had taught at Cornell before taking that position.
He studied at Amherst College and pursued graduate work at Oxford University, the University of Michigan and Princeton University, where he received his PhD. He was also an American public intellectual and the son of Louis M. Hacker.
