
Barrie Tomlinson, a British comic book editor and writer, died on April 21, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born in St Albans, England, in February 1938, he began his career at IPC Magazines in 1961 after responding to a job advertisement for children’s comics. He worked on Lion and later Tiger, becoming editor of Tiger in 1969.
Tomlinson was closely associated with the development of Roy of the Rovers and served as the founding editor of Roy of the Rovers in 1976, followed by Speed, Scream!, and Wildcat.
