Swietlan Kraczyna, an American painter, died on February 19, 2026.
He was known as a painter and printmaker in Florence and Barga, Italy, and his work was held in private collections and galleries around the world, as well as in the Prints and Drawings Collection of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Born on March 24, 1940, in Kamin-Kashyrskyi, in the Ukrainian SSR, he studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and earned an M.F.A.
from Southern Illinois University. In 1964, he moved to Florence with his wife, Amy Luckenbach, and lived there until his death.
