Saleh Mohammadi Iranian wrestler, execution by hanging dead at age 19

Saleh Mohammadi, an Iranian wrestler and member of the country’s national wrestling team, died on March 19, 2026, in Qom, Iran, at the age of 19.

Born in Saveh and raised in Qom, he began training in freestyle wrestling before moving to Greco-Roman. In September 2024, he represented Iran at the Saitiev Cup in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, where he won a bronze medal.

He was arrested in January 2026 on charges related to the killing of a Special Units police officer in Qom earlier that month.

Saleh Mohammadi (11 March 2007 – 19 March 2026) was an Iranian wrestler and member of the country’s national wrestling team.
