Myers, an American politician and businessman who served in the Iowa House of Representatives, died on March 19, 2026, at age 91. Born Richard Ellsworth Myers Jr.
in Iowa City, Iowa, on October 29, 1934, he attended Iowa State University, the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College. A Democrat, Myers served in the Iowa House from 1994 to 2005, representing the 49th district from 1994 to 2003 and the 30th district in 2003.
