
Michael “Mick” Erwin, an Australian footballer who played for Richmond and Collingwood, died on April 15, 2026, aged 82.
Born in Stawell, Victoria, on June 6, 1943, he played in the VFL for Collingwood from 1962 to 1964 and for Richmond from 1965 to 1968. Erwin later crossed to Coburg in the VFA during the 1968 season and served as captain-coach from 1969 to 1972, guiding the club to the 1970 Second Division premiership.
He stepped down as coach for the 1973 season but remained captain under John Dugdale before being traded to Port Melbourne ahead of 1974.
