Don Bennett, the English first-class cricketer and footballer, died on June 12, 2014, aged 80.
Born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, on December 18, 1933, he also used the name Donald Bennett. A right-arm fast-medium bowler and right-handed batsman, Bennett played for Middlesex County Cricket Club between 1950 and 1968, making more than 400 appearances in first-class cricket.
Over that career he scored 10,656 runs and took 784 wickets, and he was also known for his work in football and as a cricket administrator.
