Born: Leonard OrnsteinJune 28Los Angeles, California, United States.

Jack Armstrong, an American professional wrestler known for work in the World Wide Wrestling Federation and Universal Wrestling Federation, died October 25, 2026, aged 79.

Born Leonard Ornstein in Los Angeles, he performed under the ring name “Wildman” Jack Armstrong from the 1960s into the early 1990s. Armstrong made his professional wrestling debut in 1963 and went on to work for both the WWWF and Herb Abrams’s UWF.

His WWWF debut came in New York City in 1968, where he wrestled as Lenny Solomon. There, he feuded with The Sicilians, the team of Lou Albano and Tony Altomare, before leaving the federation in 1969. Armstrong later became best known for his work in the UWF as well as the WWWF. In the mid-1980s, his feud with Jay Strongbow Jr. resulted in encounters described as “some of the bloodiest” ever seen in California. That rivalry brought Armstrong into a particularly intense chapter of California wrestling during the period. Alongside his wrestling career, he was also an actor. The several names and promotions associated with his career reflected work that stretched across decades, from his early professional debut to the end of his run in the early 1990s.
