
Dash Crofts, the American musician and songwriter best known as one half of Seals & Crofts, died on March 25, 2026, from complications from heart surgery.
Born Darrell George Crofts on August 14, 1938, in Cisco, Texas, he was a drummer early in his career before meeting Jim Seals. The two performed in The Champs and later formed Seals & Crofts, recording hits including “Summer Breeze” and “Diamond Girl.” Crofts sang and played guitar and mandolin, among other instruments, during a career that spanned from 1957 to 2026.
