Brent Carter, the American poker player and two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, died on August 20, 2026, aged 77.

A native of Oak Park, Illinois, Carter built a long career in professional poker and was also known as Brent R. Carter.

He won his first WSOP bracelet in 1991 in the $1,500 no-limit Texas hold ’em event after finishing in the money in a seven-card stud event that same year, and added a second bracelet in 1994 in the $1,500 limit Omaha event. Carter later won a Hall of Fame tournament bracelet in pot-limit Omaha and was named Best All-Around Player at the Four Queens Poker Classic in both 1995 and 1996.
