Sir Colin Crichton Mackay, a British judge and barrister who served as a Justice of the High Court of England and Wales from 2001 to 2013, died on March 25, 2026.
Born on 26 September 1943, he attended Radley College and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He was called to the bar at Middle Temple in 1967, appointed a Recorder in 1992, made a bencher in 1995, and became Queen’s Counsel in 1998.
On 24 January 2001, he was appointed a High Court judge and received the customary knighthood, sitting in the Queen’s Bench Division before retiring at the age of 70.
