He was 64. Born in Watford on January 5, 1962, Kenneth Francis Jackett spent his entire playing career with Watford, where a serious injury ended his time on the pitch at the age of 28.

A left-footed defender or midfielder, he won 31 caps for Wales before moving into coaching with the same club and beginning his managerial career in the 1996-97 season. Jackett later led Swansea City from 2004 to 2007, guiding them to promotion and several trophies, and went on to manage Millwall for six seasons, again overseeing promotion. He resigned in May 2013 and weeks later took charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers, another role in which he secured promotion, before later serving as director of football at Gillingham.
