Jorge Luis Hauat, known as Jorge Babu, a Brazilian politician, died on February 8, 2026, in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 60.
He served in the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro from 2007 to 2011 and was a member of multiple political parties. Before his political career, he worked as a civil police officer.
He was arrested in 2010 and sentenced to seven years in prison for association with militias in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, forming a criminal gang and extortion.
