Kirk Francis, an American sound engineer, died on February 8, 2026, at the age of 78.
He won the Academy Award for sound on The Bourne Ultimatum in 2008 and received an Academy Award nomination for L.A. Confidential in 1998.
Francis also worked on the 1973 film Executive Action and was credited on Jurassic World. His career spanned from 1972 to 2014.
