Fields, an American politician, died on February 8, 2026, at the age of 66. A Democrat, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008, representing the 14th District, which included parts of downtown Jacksonville in western Duval County.
Fields was born in Jacksonville on April 18, 1959, attended Florida A&M University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1981, and later did graduate work at Florida State University. He also served on the Jacksonville Civil Service Board from 1983 to 1991 and ran for a seat in the Florida House again in 2016, losing in the primary to Kimberly Daniels.
Terry L.
