
Imrich Bugár, Czech Olympic discus thrower, died on April 8, 2026, at the age of 70.
Born in Ohrady, Czechoslovakia, he represented Czechoslovakia and later the Czech Republic during a career highlighted by a silver medal at the 1980 Olympic Games, a European Championship title in 1982 and a gold medal at the inaugural World Championships in 1983. He also won bronze at the 1978 European Championships and held a personal best of 71.26 metres.
