Abass Kaboua Togolese politician, senator dead at age 63

Abass Kaboua

Abass Kaboua, a Togolese politician and senator since 2025, died on April 8, 2026.

He was 63. Kaboua was a member of the Movement of Centrist Republicans (MRC), which he founded and led as its inaugural president.

Born on April 27, 1962, he studied at the University of Lorraine in France and worked as an agronomic engineer. He later served at Togo’s Ministry of Justice, including as director of study for the penitentiary administration. He was elected to the National Assembly to represent Danyi-Apéyémé before taking office in the Senate on March 6, 2025.
