
Kostakis Pierides, a Cypriot footballer who played for Pezoporikos Larnaca, Olympiakos Nicosia and the Cyprus national team, died on April 8, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on April 2, 1941, he played as a forward and made four appearances for Cyprus. He made his debut on December 3, 1966, in a UEFA Euro 1968 qualifying match against Romania, scoring Cyprus’s only goal in a 5-1 loss.
He went on to score once in four international appearances before making his last appearance in 1969.
