Terry Gabinski

Terry Gabinski, an American politician who served on the Chicago City Council, died on April 8, 2026.

He was 87. Gabinski represented the 32nd Ward on the Chicago City Council from 1969 to 1998 and served as the ward’s Democratic committeeman from 1988 to 2008.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Northern Illinois University in 1962 and taught at Ridgewood High School in suburban Norridge before becoming an aide to Congressman Dan Rostenkowski. Rostenkowski later backed his appointment to the City Council after Robert Sulski became a judge on the Circuit Court of Cook County.
