
Mark Weissman, a funeral home director and Democratic politician who served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002, died on April 8, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born in the Bronx in New York City, he moved to Florida in 1971. He attended Miami-Dade Community College, earning an associate degree in 1971, and later graduated from Nova University with a bachelor’s degree in 1986.
Weissman owned and operated several cemeteries for decades before selling them to Service Corporation International. He also served on the Parkland City Commission, winning a special election in 1996 and winning re-election unopposed in 1998.
