Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury, an Indian politician who served as an MP from 2006 to 2024 and as minister of health and family welfare from 2012 to 2014, died on April 8, 2026, at age 88.
Born on January 12, 1938, in Malda, West Bengal, he represented the Maldaha Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency from 2009 and was first elected to Parliament from the Malda seat after the death of his brother, A.B.A. Ghani Khan Choudhury.
A member of the Indian National Congress, he also served as MLA for Kaliachak from 1996 to 2006.
