
Mario Adorf, the German actor and writer known for Major Dundee, Short Night of Glass Dolls and Fedora, died on April 8, 2026, at age 95.
Born in Zürich, Switzerland, in 1930, he was active from 1954 to 2026 and appeared in more than 200 film and television productions over a career that included leading and supporting roles in European cinema and German film and television. He also wrote several successful books, mostly autobiographical.
