
Hermano da Silva Ramos, a French–Brazilian racing driver, died on May 4, 2026, at the age of 100.
Born in Paris on December 7, 1925, to a French mother and a Brazilian father, he first ventured into motor racing in 1947, driving an MG TC in the Interlagos Grand Prix in Brazil. He later raced an Aston Martin DB2/4 in sports car events in France and, in 1954, won the Coupe de Montlhéry.
Da Silva Ramos competed in seven Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, making his debut on June 19, 1955, and scoring two championship points. He was the oldest living Formula One driver from April 2023 until his death.
