Anbar Saeed, the Kuwaiti footballer who was a forward and one of the most celebrated figures in Kuwait’s game, died on August 2, 2026, at age 67.

Known for his leaping ability and headed goals, he was the ninth-highest all-time scorer in the Kuwaiti league and built his reputation with Al-Arabi, where he joined the youth team in 1972, was promoted to the first team in 1976, and helped the club to a notable treble in 1983 that included the league title, the Amir Cup and the Gulf Cooperation Council Clubs Championship. He also represented Kuwait in several regional and international competitions and was recognized for his pace, his aerial finishing and, at times, his back-heel goals.

He died in Kuwait in a traffic accident.
