Sepp Puschnig, the Austrian Olympic ice hockey player who represented his country at three Winter Games, died on August 2, 2026, aged 79.

Born Josef Puschnig in Klagenfurt, Austria, on September 12, 1946, he made his debut with EC KAC in 1962 and remained with the club for 17 seasons. During that spell he helped the team to 13 Austrian championship titles, scored 362 goals and later had his jersey number retired.

Puschnig was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1999.
