Craig Krampf, an American drummer, died on April 16, 2026, at age 80.
Born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, on August 25, 1945, he worked as a drummer, percussionist, arranger, record producer and songwriter from 1971 to 2026. Most of his notable credits were as a studio drummer, and he played on albums by artists including Steve Perry, Alabama, Kim Carnes, Flo & Eddie, Alice Cooper and Melissa Etheridge.
Krampf and Perry were founding members of the short-lived rock group Alien Project. As a songwriter, his biggest hit was “Oh Sherrie,” co-written with Perry, Randy Goodrum and Bill Cuomo.
