Garret Anderson

Garret Anderson, an American baseball player who played for the Los Angeles Angels, died on April 16, 2026, of a heart attack.

He was 53. Anderson played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball, primarily for the California, Anaheim and Los Angeles Angels franchises.

A three-time All-Star, he helped lead the Angels to the 2002 World Series title and was named Most Valuable Player of the 2003 All-Star Game. He held Angels franchise records in games played, at bats, hits, runs scored, RBIs, total bases, extra-base hits, singles, doubles, grand slams and RBIs in a single game. Anderson attended Kennedy High School in Granada Hills, California.
