Vladimir Grachev, a Russian scientist and politician, died on April 26, 2026, at the age of 84.
He was also an ecologist, a professor, and a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Grachev held a doctorate in engineering and served in the Supreme Soviet of the Russian SFSR as well as the 3rd and 4th State Dumas.
From 2008, he served as an adviser to the Advisory Council under the chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation. He also served on the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO, and the Supreme Environmental Council of the State Duma Committee on natural resources, the environment, and ecology.
