
Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Canadian politician and lieutenant governor of Saskatchewan from 2012 to 2018, died on April 8, 2026, at age 82.
Born in Regina on October 25, 1943, she was appointed as the province’s 21st lieutenant governor in 2012, succeeding Gordon Barnhart, and was sworn in on March 22, 2012, at the Legislative Building. Schofield studied at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus, and at the Ray-Vogue School in Chicago, where she earned a degree in fashion merchandising.
She later resided in Regina Beach, Saskatchewan. She was married to the late Gordon L. Schofield and was the mother of Dr. Whitney Wignall and George Schofield.
