Rif Hutton, an American actor known for roles in Doogie Howser, M.D., JAG and The Thirteenth Floor, died on April 18, 2026, at age 63.
Hutton was perhaps best known for his recurring role as Dr. Ron Welch on Doogie Howser, M.D., which aired from 1990 to 1993.
He later appeared as Lt. Cmdr. Alan Mattoni on JAG from 1997 to 2001. Born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in East Orange, New Jersey, he moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1970s to pursue acting. He also guest starred in numerous television series.
