Ray Fosse, the American professional baseball pitcher and broadcaster, died on October 14, 2021, aged 74.
Born Raymond Earl Fosse in Marion, Illinois, he developed as a catcher at Marion High School and later attended Southern Illinois University. Fosse reached Major League Baseball in 1967 and played through 1979, becoming an All-Star with the Cleveland Indians before winning two World Series titles with the Oakland Athletics in the early 1970s.
He also played for the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers. After his playing career, Fosse became a familiar voice on Athletics television and radio broadcasts, and he was honored with a Rawlings Gold Glove Award during his career.
